Iceland ETIAS requirements for Marshallese Citizens

An ETIAS authorisation will be required for every Marshallese citizen for short-stay period in Iceland starting from 2023.

Documents
A valid passport is required to enter Iceland. All tourists entering Icelandic territory from another (Schengen country) are exempted from presenting their passports to Icelandic authorities. In this case, a national identity card is the only document needed.
The passport and other travel documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 3 months beyond the period of intended stay. All the Passports (or equivalent travel documents) issued more than ten years before the date of travel, may not be accepted.

Visa
A Schengen visa is mandatory for all nationals of Marshall Islands who stay in the country for a period greater than 90 days.
For short stay visits (less than 90 days within a period of 180 days), the visitors are exempted from obtaining a valid Schengen visa.
An ETIAS authorisation will become a mandatory requirement for every Marshall Islandsn citizen starting from 2021.
ETIAS will have a validity of five years, and it can be used for an unlimited number of entries.

Custom Regulations
Icelandic custom regulates and blocks the importing of several dangerous items such as weapons (the traveler must hold a valid European Firearm Pass), legal and illegal drugs.
Goods can be imported into Icelandic territory following the mandatory limits regulated by the government:

  • Tobacco:Cigarettes (200),other tobacco products (250g).
  • Alcohol: Spirits (1L), wine (0.75L), beer (3L)
  • Food: 3kg of food not exceeding kr25,000


To protect the unicity of Icelandic eco-system the import of some goods like used riding gears, uncooked meats, milk, eggs, animals and plants, is strictly forbidden. Some items - for example, riding gears (saddles, bridles, halters and leather whips) requires disinfection certificate.
Other prohibited items are telecommunications equipment (other than your mobile phone), firearms and ammunition (which require a police permit) and of course drugs.

Currency Restriction
The government of Iceland applies no restrictions on import of foreign or local currency.
